A Supplication on Leaving Home

Reciting a supplication every time you leave home means setting out in Allah's name and trusting in Him.

On leaving his house the Prophet (peace be upon him) would say, "Bismillah, tawakkaltu alallah" — "In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah." He would then seek refuge in Allah from slipping or erring, from doing wrong or being wronged, and from acting out of ignorance or having it done to him. Beginning the day with this awareness brings great calm to the heart.
