Beginning every meal with Bismillah comes first among the sunnahs.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) began every meal with Bismillah. Before sitting down to eat he would say "Bismillah". If he forgot at the start, he would say "Bismillahi fi awwalihi wa akhirihi" the moment he remembered. This habit is one of the most beautiful ways to keep the remembrance of Allah in daily life.
