Dressing cleanly and neatly is a sign of self-respect and of valuing those around you.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) loved to wear white; when he saw someone with unkempt hair or dirty clothes he would tell them to tidy themselves. When he looked in the mirror he would say a supplication. Caring about appearance is not arrogance; on the contrary, it reflects the respect we hold for those we meet.
