Making Repentance a Habit

Repenting a hundred times a day stands for the heart's constant cleansing and turning to Allah.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "O people, repent to Allah; I repent to Him a hundred times a day." Repentance is a way not only for after a sin, but of turning the heart to Allah continually. The Prophet taught that a black mark falls upon the heart of one who sins, and that when he repents and seeks forgiveness, the heart is cleansed again.
